Two 13-year-old boys Jakody Davis and Lamon Freeman killed in Oakland City shooting

A tragic shooting in southwest Atlanta resulted in the deaths of two young boys and left another injured.

Around 12:40 a.m., police responded to a call from an apartment complex on Sparks Street SW near Peeples Street SW in the Oakland City neighborhood.

Upon arrival, officers found one 13-year-old boy dead at the scene.

Another 13-year-old and a 12-year-old were transported to the hospital, where the second 13-year-old later died from his injuries.

The 12-year-old is currently in stable condition, according to police.

The Fulton County Medical Examiner’s Office has identified the two 13-year-olds as Jakody Davis and Lamon Freeman.

The younger boy, who is currently in the hospital, appears to be Davis’s younger brother.

No arrests have been made yet, and police have not released any information regarding a possible motive or suspect.
