At least 5 injured after shooting in Crete

Update: The Nebraska State Patrol (NSP) announced that the active situation has been resolved and there is no longer a threat to the public.

They added that the investigation is ongoing.

Multiple agencies are responding to a shooting in Crete.

The Crete Fire Department confirmed the shooting occurred just before 5 p.m.

Around 5:30 p.m., the Nebraska State Patrol described the situation as active.

The incident took place near the Pizza Hut, with several emergency vehicles spotted near Crestline Drive and Parklane Street in the northeast part of the city.

A woman informed Channel3 NOW that there are numerous police officers right outside her house, along with around three ambulances and about eight police cars.

The Nebraska State Patrol, the Saline County Sheriff’s Office, and other agencies are on the scene.

Law enforcement officers have their guns drawn, and a helicopter is circling overhead.

The Crete Police Department advises the public to avoid the area from East 16th to East 20th streets and from Boswell Avenue to Parklane Street.
