37-year-old Rashad Sims killed after shooting on Eltha Drive in Winston-Salem
While investigators believe the victim and shooter were acquainted, they haven’t released any details about the suspect.
On Monday, June 10th, around 11:45 pm, Winston-Salem police responded to a report of a shooting on Eltha Drive in the 5000 block.
They arrived to find 37-year-old Rashad Akeem Sims with gunshot wounds. Medical personnel treated Mr. Sims at the scene before transporting him to a local hospital.
Unfortunately, Mr. Sims succumbed to his injuries.
While investigators believe the victim and shooter were acquainted, they haven’t released any details about the suspect.
The public is safe, according to police.
The shooting occurred near the intersection of Shattalon Drive and University Parkway in Winston-Salem, behind the Target store and the Cove Apartment Homes complex, although the police report listed the address on Eltha Drive.
