2 shot, 1 detained after shooting during Cape Central High School graduation ceremony at Show Me Center in Cape Girardeau

A shooting occurred during a graduation ceremony at Show Me Center in Cape Girardeau, Missouri, resulting in reported injuries.
Cape PD addressed the shooting at the Show Me Center this afternoon during Central High School’s graduation.

The incident occurred during the ceremony around 2:33 p.m. Lt. Rick Schmidt reported that a fight broke out between two individuals on the upper level of the SMC.
A single shot was fired, injuring two people. The victims’ injuries are reported to be non-life-threatening.
A person of interest is in custody, and charges may be filed tomorrow.
They are now clearing out the Show Me Center, and the graduation ceremony is being canceled.
