Update: CCSD Police have lifted the lockdown and cleared the school to resume normal operations.

The school went into a soft lockdown today while police investigated a rumor about a weapon on campus. Thankfully, after their search, no weapon was found and there was never any actual threat.

Here’s what the school principal, McNaught, said in an email to parents:

  • The lockdown will be lifted as soon as police give the all-clear.
  • They will then update everyone on the plan for the rest of the day.
  • This is a good reminder to talk to your child about school safety.
  • If your child ever sees or hears something that might be a safety concern, encourage them to tell an adult right away.
  • There are also multiple ways to report safety concerns anonymously through the SafeVoice system:
    • Call 1-833-216-7233
    • Visit the website: safevoicenv.org
