Teen critically injured after shooting at Brookland-CUA Metro station in Northeast D.C

According to a police spokesman, an individual was shot and severely injured Thursday afternoon at the Brookland Metro station in Northeast D.C.

The victim, identified as male, is in critical condition.

According to a witness at the scene, both Metro Transit and the MPD are present at a shooting incident where CPR is being administered after an individual was shot in the head on the platform. Police are conducting a search for the shooter, and it’s noted that the station was crowded with school children.

Authorities are searching for a black male suspect described as having light skin, wearing a black jacket, black hoodie, gray square backpack, light blue jeans, and black and white shoes.

However, the specifics of his condition and the circumstances surrounding the shooting remain unclear.

The incident took place shortly before 4 p.m. The Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority announced on “X” that trains would temporarily avoid stopping at the station.

No suspects have been identified, and there has been no information immediately released regarding any arrests.

Police ask public to please stay out of the area.
