Li Marvin killed, 4 others injured after a drive-by shooting on Euclid Avenue in Mobile

The Mobile Police Department is probing a drive-by shooting on Euclid Avenue in Mobile’s Rickarby neighborhood, which resulted in five individuals being shot, one of whom succumbed to injuries.

The event unfolded around 1 p.m. within the 600 block of Euclid Avenue.

Mobile Police Chief Paul Prine stated that multiple suspects arrived in a car, parked in a driveway, disembarked, and opened fire on several individuals located in the backyard of the property.

Prine mentioned that it remains unclear whether anyone in the backyard retaliated with gunfire.

Upon police arrival, they discovered four men sustaining gunshot wounds, all of whom were transported to the hospital.

Another individual with a gunshot wound arrived later at the hospital in a private vehicle. Out of those wounded, one individual succumbed to injuries, and another faces life-threatening conditions, according to Prine.

The remaining three individuals sustained non-life-threatening injuries.

The suspect had fled the scene before the arrival of officers, as per authorities.

The deceased victim has been identified as Li Marvin, with sources suggesting that the altercation stemmed from a disagreement over a haircut.

Prine mentioned that the motive behind the incident remains unclear.

He further stated that it is believed the individuals involved were acquainted and that the incident arose from an ongoing conflict or possible retaliation.

Authorities are urging anyone with information regarding the incident to come forward and assist the police.

“We understand that in such situations, neighbors or community members may be hesitant to step forward,” Prine emphasized.

“Nevertheless, we all have a role to play in ensuring the safety of Mobile’s streets. So, if you witnessed anything, I urge every citizen to reach out to the police department, contact individuals you know, or connect with investigators via Facebook and social media. Provide us with tips and leads so we can take the necessary steps to bring the perpetrators to justice.”
