Forest Hill High School on lockdown after Jackson police searching for 3 armed individuals

Jackson police have apprehended three suspects and are currently pursuing at least three additional individuals following their response to an incident in South Jackson.

Numerous officers were dispatched to Forest Hill Drive at Maddox Road on Wednesday, February 21. Certain roads in the vicinity were cordoned off as part of the response.

Jackson Police Chief Joseph Wade reported that stolen firearms were recovered at the site, along with two stolen vehicles.

The Jackson Public School District (JPS) announced that Forest Hill High School was placed on a temporary lockdown as a precautionary step.

Law enforcement personnel are currently seeking the suspects.

JPS confirmed the safety of all students and staff, affirming that educational activities are continuing as usual. Parents have been duly informed of the situation.
