According to police and law enforcement sources, a man was fatally shot, and at least five others, including two teenagers, sustained injuries during a shooting at a Bronx train station on Monday afternoon amidst rush-hour commotion.

Reports indicate that approximately 10 shots were fired at the Mount Eden Avenue station following an altercation aboard a northbound 4 train around 4:40 p.m., causing widespread chaos, as reported by witnesses and sources.

Police confirmed the death of a 35-year-old man in the shooting, withholding his identity pending notification of family members.

Additionally, a 14-year-old girl, a 15-year-old boy, a 29-year-old woman, and two men, aged 71 and 28, were also wounded by gunfire, according to law enforcement.

All five surviving victims were admitted to the hospital and are listed in stable condition.

According to police sources, there is a possibility of two shooters involved in the incident. The altercation, which originated on the train, escalated onto the platform, resulting in gunfire, as per the sources.

The exact cause of the dispute remains unclear, but authorities are currently pursuing two potential suspects associated with the incident, sources reported.

A woman residing in a nearby apartment, who wished to remain anonymous, reported calling 911 after observing three teenage boys on the train tracks following the sound of over 10 gunshots. Two of the teenagers were engaged in an argument, during which one of them abruptly left the scene.

She described how the remaining two individuals reacted: one paced back and forth, while the other remained seated.

As passengers disembarked from the train, some of them directed accusatory gestures and shouted at the group to vacate the tracks.

The NYPD advised residents to steer clear of the vicinity surrounding the station due to the ongoing investigation.
