Two individuals were fatally shot early Thursday at a sports bar in Elkhorn, according to information provided to Channel3 NOW.
At around 12:11 a.m., the Walworth County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call reporting gunshots inside the Sports Page Bar situated at 29 ½ S. Wisconsin Street.
Upon reaching the scene, law enforcement discovered the lifeless bodies of a man and a woman inside the bar.
Both victims, identified as Emerson and Gina Weingart, had suffered gunshot wounds.
The incident has deeply affected the close-knit Elkhorn community, with neighbors expressing shock.
A nearby worker shared, “You never really see that kind of stuff happen around here. Just hearing something awful like that sends a little bit of chills down your spine.”
The shooting is currently under investigation, and Elkhorn police have not disclosed additional details.
The area around 29 1/2 S Wisconsin St. has been cordoned off by the police for the ongoing investigation.
