An ongoing situation involving an active shooter has been reported at New York’s Grand Central Station.

While the shooting remains unconfirmed, the New York Police Department is responding to the incident at 89 East 42nd Street in Manhattan, as per information from the police radio.

Local residents are urged to steer clear of the area and remain vigilant.

Following the discovery of an unidentified barefoot man found hanging from his neck by a wire in the subway tunnels beneath Grand Central Station on Monday, subway workers conducting routine inspections made the grim finding around 100 feet down the tunnel of the number 7 train.

It’s important to note that there is no connection between this incident and the reports of an active shooter today.

The discovery occurred at approximately 5 am on Monday, and the man was unfortunately pronounced dead at the scene shortly afterward.

This is a developing story that will be updated when more information is available.
