Officer-involved shooting on I-40 leaves one person dead

A suspect who shot at two ASP Troopers during a traffic stop on Interstate 40 in North Little Rock has been fatally injured.
The incident occurred around 11 a.m. at the 161-mile marker.
The eastbound lanes of I-40 near the Galloway exit are currently closed, as ASP’s Criminal Investigation Division is actively investigating the officer-involved shooting at the scene.
Traffic disruptions are expected during the ongoing investigation, and drivers are advised to seek alternative routes, avoiding both eastbound and westbound lanes until further notice.
