Casar shooting: 32-year-old Thomas Gene Eaker arrested and charged with murder of Laurie Ann Marks and Kimberly Renee McNeilly

Following a shooting in Casar, North Carolina, two women were discovered deceased inside a car, as reported by the Cleveland County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies were dispatched to 5740 Casar Road on Monday, Jan. 8, in response to a shooting report.

The victims, identified as Laurie Ann Marks and Kimberly Renee McNeilly, were found deceased inside a car parked in the driveway of the residence.

Authorities received an additional call while at the initial scene, indicating that the suspect was present at a residence on Oakgrove-Cloverhill Church Road.

Deputies located and apprehended Thomas Gene Eaker, 32, at that address, charging him with two counts of murder.

Although investigators note that Marks and Eaker were in a dating relationship, the precise motive for the shooting remains under investigation.
