Janavo Hayes killed during shooting at Gainesville Park apartments complex

On January 9th, 2024 at approximately 1:13 AM, Gainesville Police Officers were dispatched to 3643 SW 20th Ave in reference to several calls of citizens hearing gunshots and that one person appeared to have been shot.

Upon arrival, officers located Janavo Hayes with apparent gunshot wounds. GFR/ACFR was also on scene and determined that the subject was deceased.

Detectives are currently conducting a follow-up investigation.

This is an open and on-going investigation.
