Law enforcement has shared security camera images revealing an individual of interest in the Paddock Mall shooting that resulted in one fatality and injuries just days before Christmas.

According to the Ocala Police Department, the assailant initiated gunfire inside the mall around 3:40 p.m. on Saturday.

The victim, David Nathaniel Barron, aged 40, succumbed to the gunshot wounds.

A woman was also shot in the leg, and additional injuries occurred as people fled from the gunfire.

Officers believe Barron was the intended target. Subsequent to the mall incident, the gunman fled, and as of the latest update, his whereabouts remain unknown.

Images of an individual, identified as a Black man wearing a red cap, green face mask, black hoodie, and black pants, have been disclosed by law enforcement.

This person is considered a person of interest in the case. A reward of $3,000 is being offered by Crime Stoppers for information related to the incident.
