A man, identified as Terry Holstein, aged 32, succumbed to multiple gunshot wounds in eastern Lincoln County this morning.

The incident occurred outside the residence of a person of interest on Wednesday morning, and Holstein sustained gunshot injuries in both arms, a leg, and the abdomen, according to authorities.

The occurrence seemed to stem from a “civil dispute,” as per authorities, with only one firearm implicated in the incident.

Holstein’s vehicle, found at the scene with a bullet hole, was identified by police.

The individual initially considered a person of interest has been released, as they were cooperative, compliant, and the one who placed the 911 call.

Authorities revealed that the victim and the person of interest were acquaintances.

As of now, no charges are being pressed, and officers suggest the possibility of it being a self-defense situation.

The investigation is still in progress and will be submitted to a grand jury for deliberation on whether charges should be filed.
