Following a Friday afternoon shooting in Eunice, a man has succumbed to his injuries, as reported by the police.

Authorities responded to the 300 block of Corn Street, discovering a man with a gunshot wound to the head, along with a woman and a two-year-old child who sustained injuries.

The man was airlifted to a hospital, initially in critical condition. The woman received treatment and has been released, while the child is currently in stable condition at a Baton Rouge hospital.

The investigation disclosed that a dispute unfolded within the residence involving two men.

During the altercation, one man produced a firearm and began firing shots, ultimately hitting the other man in the head.

As a woman emerged from the house carrying a two-year-old, they were also struck by gunfire.

The assailant fled the scene; however, authorities have identified him and are currently in pursuit.
