17-year-old shot and runs for help at Raleigh Egypt Middle School

Police ask public to please stay out of the area.

On Thursday, a shooting occurred near Raleigh-Egypt Middle School, where a teenager was shot in an apartment complex, as reported by Memphis Police.

The incident unfolded at Ashton Hills Apartments on 4183 Troost Drive, situated across the street from the middle school.

A 17-year-old victim was subsequently transported to Regional One in critical condition.

Initially, officers were dispatched to the school in response to a juvenile who had fallen. However, the situation took an unexpected turn when the teenager who had been shot rushed in a state of panic towards the school seeking assistance, according to MPD.
