34-year-old Ty’Netrum J. Smoakes killed in Thanksgiving Day shooting in Aiken

A 34-year-old individual from Fairfax lost their life in a shooting on Thanksgiving Day, as reported by Aiken County Coroner Darryl M. Ables on Friday, November 24.

Ty’Netrum J. Smoakes was discovered at 1:49 a.m. on Thursday in the driver’s seat of a Toyota Camry that had collided with a tree at the intersection of Park Avenue and Fairfield Street, as stated in a news release by Ables.

Smoakes sustained multiple gunshot wounds, according to the release.

He was transported to Aiken Regional Medical Centers, where he was later pronounced dead.

The Aiken Department of Public Safety and Ables’ office are currently conducting an investigation.
