Eastman issues hold-in-place alert after an unauthorized driver entered the campus

An unauthorized entry led to a hold-in-place alert at Eastman on Saturday afternoon, as confirmed by company representatives.

Candy Eslinger, a spokesperson for Eastman, informed Channel3 NOW that an unauthorized driver gained access to the campus through a gate on Lincoln Street.

She emphasized that this incident did not disrupt the plant’s operations in any way.

Eslinger further stated that the hold-in-place measure was implemented to ensure the safety of the employees present on-site.

An unauthorized driver entered through an Eastman plant gate from Lincoln Street. The Kingsport Police Department is currently in the process of apprehending the driver. During this time, we’ve issued a hold in place for the safety of our employees.
