Update: The Shelby County Sheriff’s Office has officially identified Lamarious Rattler as the suspect.

According to the sheriff’s office, Rattler is currently wanted on active warrants for first-degree murder, unlawful possession of a firearm as a felon, and possession of a firearm during the commission of a dangerous felony.

Pastor Hosea Houston from Pleasant Chapel Missionary Baptist Church is acquainted with the victim’s family. Deputies have not disclosed a motive for the shooting, emphasizing that the investigation is still underway.

The sheriff’s office has issued a warning, considering Rattler to be armed and dangerous.
