TOPPENISH, Wash. — 3:30 p.m. – The Toppenish Police Department has confirmed a tragic shooting incident on Pearne Street resulting in four fatalities.

According to TPD reports, a 19-year-old man was responsible for the shooting, which claimed the lives of a 13-year-old boy, an 18-year-old woman, and a 21-year-old woman.

Additionally, a 21-year-old man was shot and remains in critical condition.

The motive behind this devastating event remains unclear.

Authorities have opted not to release the names of those involved, including the assailant, until all family members have been notified.

10:45 a.m. The Toppenish Police Department has reported that the shooting occurred in the 200 block of Pearne Street.

The incident is being treated as a homicide, and authorities have stated that there is no active search for suspects at this time.

They do not believe that there is an immediate threat to the community.

8:30 a.m. Toppenish police are currently probing a shooting incident that occurred early Thursday morning, resulting in at least one fatality and several injuries.

According to Yakima County Sheriff’s spokesperson Casey Schilperoort, a 911 call was received around 5 a.m. reporting a shooting in the 200 block of Pearne Street in Toppenish.

Schilperoort confirmed that there were “multiple” gunshot victims at the location. He stated that the Toppenish Police Department is leading the investigation at this juncture.

Examining the map of the region, the 200 block of Pearne Street includes Allen Park and various residential properties.

However, the precise location of the incident remains unclear. To provide a reference point, this area is situated roughly two to three blocks east of the Toppenish Swimming Pool and approximately a quarter-mile south of Lincoln Elementary School.

In a recent social media update, the Toppenish police stated that they were conducting an investigation related to a crime in the 200 block of Pearne Street.

They also specified in the accompanying graphic that it was a homicide investigation.

Toppenish police have advised individuals to steer clear of the vicinity and mentioned that they will release further information later in the day.
