Suspect killed in an officer-involved shooting outside shopping center in Canoga Park
There was an individual with the suspect, he was questioned and released.
On October 7, 2023, around 12:55 a.m., officers received a radio call of an armed suspect in a pick-up truck. Officers responded to the scene and made contact with the suspect.
The officers gave the suspect verbal commands but he failed to comply and an OIS occurred.
The suspect was struck by gunfire. The Los Angeles Fire Department personnel responded and pronounced the suspect deceased at scene.
The suspect is described as a male Hispanic in his 30s. There was an individual with the suspect, he was questioned and released. There is a firearm at scene that will be booked as evidence.
No officers or other members of the community were injured during this incident. This area will be impacted for several hours.
