Hoax active shooter call at Sunnyside High School

Schools will remain in emergency lock down and secure and teach until the Police Department calls for dismissal.

2:24 p.m. UPDATE: According to the Sunnyside Police Department, officers are responding to a call of an active shooter, but there has been no evidence found to confirm.

Emergency personnel are on the scene nearby Sunnyside High School. No shots have been fired, and no injuries reported.

Due to an ongoing emergency response, students in the Sunnyside School District will not be dismissed until the lock down and secure and teach are called off.

Residents are advised to stay out of the area of Sunnyside High School and Harrison Middle School while police continue their response.
