20-years-old Jakobi Maddox killed in ‘Targeted’ shooting near The Mall West End in Atlanta
Jakobi Maddox was a new father with a 1-year-old at home and was started to turn his life around.
Around 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, officers responded to a report of a shooting. Upon arrival, they discovered three individuals with gunshot wounds.
Tragically, two men succumbed to their injuries at the scene, while a third was rushed to Grady Hospital, but, sadly, he also passed away upon arrival.
Jakobi Maddox was 20 years old at the time of the incident. The other two victims who lost their lives were aged 17 and 30.
Detectives are actively engaged in uncovering the motive behind the shooting as they continue their investigation before concluding the case.
Preliminary findings from the police indicate that the shooting was a targeted incident.
According to authorities, a man approached two others and opened fire, prompting one of the victims to return gunfire.
Unfortunately, all three individuals were struck and ultimately succumbed to their injuries.
Homicide investigators are currently working to ascertain the motive behind the shooting. No hunt for an individual shooter is underway.
