18-year-old Jayrell Cox dead after shooting in Moss Point
Moss Point Police say they are actively working the scene.
A male individual discovered in Moss Point on Thursday morning has passed away due to a gunshot injury, as confirmed by Jackson County Coroner Bruce Lynd Jr.
Lynd Jr. stated that he was unable to ascertain the precise time of the shooting but had recently concluded his investigation at the scene around 2:30 p.m. on Thursday.
The shooting incident took place at the intersection of Dutch Bayou and Elder Ferry Road, as reported by Lynd Jr.
Lynd Jr. mentioned that he has identified the victim but will inform the family before disclosing any details publicly.
According to Channel3 NOW sources, victim has been identified as Jayrell Cox.
There has been no immediate response from Moss Point Police Chief Brandon Ashley to calls made on Thursday afternoon.
