Former JetBlue Employee Dillon Vista, 32, Arrested for Allegedly Planting Fake Bomb at the TWA Hotel at JFK Airport in Queens

A former airline employee was apprehended following an incident where he allegedly left a hoax bomb at the TWA Hotel located in JFK Airport, Queens.

Authorities received a call around 11 a.m. on Wednesday reporting a potential bomb in the hotel lobby, described as a cellphone with an attached note claiming it was an “explosive device.” Hotel management subsequently confirmed finding the device.

Upon inspection by the bomb squad, law enforcement determined the device to be inert, confirming it posed no explosive threat.

Detectives obtained surveillance footage showing the suspect in the vicinity of the hotel.

He was later arrested by Port Authority police at Jamaica Station, where he had boarded the AirTrain in an attempt to flee.

The suspect, 32-year-old Dillon Vista from Brooklyn, is a former JetBlue employee who was laid off during the COVID pandemic.

Information regarding Vista’s legal representation was not immediately available, and the specific charges he will face have not yet been disclosed.
