One Dead and Three Injured in Shooting and Stabbing Incident on Interstate 5 in Federal Way

One person was killed and three others injured in a shooting and stabbing incident on Interstate 5 in Federal Way.

According to the Washington State Patrol (WSP), the incident occurred in the northbound lanes of I-5, just south of the Washington State Department of Transportation weigh station, shortly after 3 p.m. on Wednesday.

The driver of a black BMW died at the scene from stab wounds.

Two other passengers were hospitalized with stab wounds, and another passenger in the BMW was taken to the hospital with multiple gunshot wounds.

The severity of their injuries is currently unknown.

Traffic is backed up for over four miles, according to the Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT).

There is no estimated time for reopening, and drivers are urged to use alternate routes and expect delays. Authorities are investigating the circumstances leading up to the incident.
