Authorities reported that a tragic incident unfolded in an Oklahoma City residence, where a father allegedly shot his wife and three children before taking his own life.

The bodies of the Candy family were discovered on Monday at their home in the southwest side of the city.

The father, identified as 42-year-old Jonathan Candy, was named by Oklahoma City police.

Investigators believe that Jonathan fatally shot his wife, Lindsay Candy, aged 39, along with their three children: 18-year-old Dylan, 14-year-old Ethan, and 12-year-old Lucas.

Fortunately, a fourth child was found unharmed in the home and has since been placed under the care of other family members.

It remains a mystery as to what caused Mr. Candy to murder his wife and three of his children,” stated police.

The alarming revelation came to light following a 911 call reporting that five individuals were found deceased within the residence.

Oklahoma City Police Sergeant Gary Knight urged anyone with information regarding the tragic event to contact their tip line at 405-297-1111.

In response to the loss, the school district attended by the children issued a statement on Monday, announcing the presence of grief counselors on-site to provide support services.
