Massive Fire Erupts at Lineage Cold Storage Plant in Finley, Prompting Evacuations as Hazardous Toxic Smoke Emerges

A shelter-in-place order has been issued for the region extending from Game Farm Rd. south to 397/Chemical Drive.

Benton County Fire District 1 has cautioned that the smoke from the fire may pose risks to individuals with respiratory issues or breathing difficulties.

The American Red Cross has established support services for evacuees at 7202 W Deschutes Ave in Kennewick.

Firefighting efforts are currently underway. Benton County Emergency Services advises evacuees to anticipate avoiding the area for the next four to six hours.

Benton County Fire District #1 has issued a Level 3 evacuation notice, advising all individuals to vacate the vicinity around the Lineage Logistics area.

Firefighters strongly recommend that residents in Finley evacuate their homes. Embers from the warehouse fire on Sunday morning have ignited several additional fires.

The affected areas under evacuation include Bowled Road, Piert Road, Cochran Road, and Finley Road up to the river.

Firefighters have shut down Bowles Road at Finley and are urging the public to steer clear of the vicinity as they deploy additional water tanks.

They report that they are operating under a code red alert due to the fires spreading. Multiple spot fires have erupted as embers were carried by the wind.

Crews from Franklin County, Walla Walla, Richland, the City of Kennewick, and Pasco are aiding in extinguishing the blaze.
