Charles Johnson killed after shooting at Ramada by Wyndham Des Moines Airport

Authorities have verified that one of the two individuals shot at a Des Moines hotel early Wednesday morning has succumbed to their injuries.

The incident occurred at the Ramada Inn on Army Post Road. Police responded to the scene at approximately 4:30 a.m. on Wednesday.

The second individual injured in the gunfire is receiving treatment at a nearby hospital.

Both victims are adult males, according to the police.

The deceased victim has been identified as Charles Johnson.

Officers have refrained from disclosing any details regarding a suspect but have assured the public that there is no ongoing threat.
