The parents of a 13-year-old are facing charges following a tragic shooting incident in Coahoma County.
On March 15, a 13-year-old was fatally shot on Amber Cove in Lyon, Mississippi. Investigations revealed that the victim was playing with another 13-year-old who accidentally discharged the firearm, resulting in the fatal injury.
Deputies determined that only the two boys were present inside the home during the shooting.
The juvenile responsible for pulling the trigger is charged as an adult with manslaughter due to culpable negligence. Additionally, the parents are charged in connection with the incident.
Lashaner Marshall, aged 49, faces charges for contributing to the neglect or delinquency of a child, while Gill Marshall, aged 65, is charged with contributing to the neglect or delinquency of a child and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
