Mauricio Martinez Arrested for Allegedly Shooting Wife Mariana Salazar-Flores with Children Present in Car
Police report that Mariana is brain-dead and unlikely to recover.
On Wednesday, police apprehended a man following a shooting incident in a parking lot in southwest Oklahoma City.
According to reports, Mauricio Martinez and his partner, Mariana Salazar-Flores, were involved in the altercation.
The incident occurred near Interstate 240 and Western Avenue shortly after 3 p.m. on Wednesday.
According to court records, officers responded to the scene and discovered Salazar-Flores with a gunshot wound to the head while seated in the passenger seat of a white car.
Police indicated that the couple’s two young children were present in the vehicle as well.
Police have reported that the woman is in critical condition and is not expected to survive.
Martinez was apprehended by the police on various charges, including attempted murder and domestic assault and battery.
The babies are currently in the custody of DHS.
Martinez contacted 911 following the shooting, but the events leading up to it remain unclear, as per police statements.
