Update: Jonesboro Police report that another victim has emerged, currently undergoing treatment at the hospital for gunshot wounds. This brings the total number of shooting victims to 8.

A shooting incident in Jonesboro early Sunday morning resulted in the deaths of at least three individuals.

The Jonesboro Police Department’s news release stated that officers and first responders were summoned to the 600 block of Burke Avenue at approximately 5 a.m., where they discovered multiple gunshot victims.

The suspect was acquainted with the male and female victims who lost their lives, along with another female victim who sustained injuries, as per police statements.

The two female victims were siblings, according to Smith, who characterized the event as a domestic shooting.

Three additional individuals suffered injuries, though the ages of all victims have not been disclosed. Smith mentioned that the male assailant was associated with one of the female victims, but authorities did not specify the circumstances of his demise.

One of the victims, identified as Amari Giles, has been pronounced deceased, while another injured individual has been identified as Daja Giles.

Shooting has been classified as a domestic incident, as stated by Police Chief Rick Elliott. He mentioned that a total of 7 individuals were shot. Among them, 3 have succumbed to their injuries, with two fatalities occurring at the scene and one at the hospital.

An individual was transported from the scene via ambulance to a nearby hospital, while four others were reportedly taken to the hospital in private vehicles, according to officers.

Currently, there is no information available regarding a suspect.

The post indicated that Burke Avenue would be closed for several hours as the investigation unfolds.

As of now, the JPD has confirmed the deaths of three individuals.

The Jonesboro Fire Marshals’ Division posted a notice at the site. Affixed to the door of the warehouse on Burke Avenue, the notice indicates that electrical utilities have been disconnected from the premises.

The city of Jonesboro does not authorize the use of the warehouse as a venue or event space, despite its use last night or early this morning. The notice takes immediate effect.

Police stated that further details will be disclosed as the investigation progresses.

At this stage, investigators have not identified any suspects or persons of interest.
