23-year-old man killed in shooting outside Minneapolis Marathon gas station

On February 6, 2024, at around 12:20 a.m., officers from the Fourth Precinct of the Minneapolis Police Department responded to a shooting incident outside a gas station located at 2600 W Broadway Ave.

Upon arrival, officers discovered a 23-year-old man with a life-threatening gunshot wound in the alley behind the gas station.

Despite receiving immediate medical attention from officers, the man was pronounced dead at the scene by emergency medical technicians.

Initial reports suggest that the shooting occurred following a verbal altercation that turned violent.

No arrests have been made at this time.

The Minneapolis Police Forensic Division dispatched forensic scientists to process the scene and gather evidence, while homicide detectives initiated an investigation.

The Hennepin County Medical Examiner will disclose the identity of the deceased individual as well as the cause and manner of death.
