Fort Worth police are looking into an incident where a firearm was discharged outside Eastern Hills High School.

The occurrence occurred shortly after 2 p.m. on Wednesday, reportedly following a fight near the school.

An unidentified suspect discharged a firearm and fled to a nearby apartment complex, according to officials.

Police indicate that there is no confirmation of a direct shooting victim at this time.

The incident remains under investigation.

In a letter to parents, Eastern Hills High School Principal Lewis Washington described the shooting as an “isolated incident” and emphasized the importance of transparency with the community.

Washington stated, “This was an isolated incident, but transparency to our community is important, that’s why we are communicating this incident to you.”
