24-year-old Courtney Spencer killed after shooting in Birmingham’s Inglenook community

According to investigators, the incident involved the firing of 10 to 20 shots.

Birmingham police are currently at the location of a shooting that resulted in the death of a man in the Inglenook area.

The authorities received a report of a person being shot at approximately 4 p.m. on Saturday, prompted by their response to an earlier call about a nearby shootout.

Upon reaching a residence at 38th Place and 34th Avenue North, officers discovered a vehicle in the driveway with a gunshot victim inside, identified as 24-year-old Courtney Spencer of Birmingham.

Birmingham Fire and Rescue personnel pronounced him dead at the scene.

Investigators suggest that Spencer was shot while in his car on the road before reaching the driveway, indicating a targeted attack.

Additionally, police noted that gunfire struck several houses in the vicinity.

As of now, no suspects are in custody.
