52-year-old Bret Bennett killed in ‘road rage’ shooting on I-670 in Columbus
The suspect vehicle, a black Ford F-150, fled the scene but was located on Saturday.
The Columbus Division of Police has identified the individual who lost their life in a shooting on Interstate 670 on Friday evening.
According to the police, the victim is 52-year-old Bret Bennett from Grove City, and the incident appears to be a result of a “road rage” confrontation.
The shooting occurred on I-670 East at North 4th Street, near downtown Columbus, shortly after 5 p.m.
After being transported to Grant Medical Center, Bennett succumbed to his injuries, as confirmed by the police.
The vehicle associated with the suspect, identified as a black Ford F-150, initially fled the scene but was subsequently found on Saturday.
Homicide detectives are currently ongoing with their investigation into the tragic shooting.
