Police investigating shooting incident at Shell gas station in St Clair Shores

There has been a shooting at the Shell gas station situated at 9 Mile and Harper in St Clair Shores. Police are currently present at the scene conducting an investigation.

Law enforcement is present at the location, and South Lake High School is currently under lockdown.

School issued the following statement:

Dear South Lake Schools Families, We were just notified by the St. Clair Shores Police of a possible shooting at the gas station at Nine and Harper. The suspect has fled the scene and appears to have left the area. As a precaution, we have placed all schools into a Secure drill until we are notified by the police that the area is safe. A Secure drill requires all exterior doors to remain locked and students and staff to remain inside the building. Normal school business will continue throughout the buildings..

As at the time of this report, there has been neither confirmation nor identification of any victims.

No suspects have been identified, and there has been no information immediately released regarding any arrests.

Police ask public to please stay out of the area.
