22-year-old Timothy Postley Jr died from injuries after shooting in Kansas City’s North Hyde Park neighborhood

Officers responded to reports of shots fired in the North Hyde Park neighborhood on Monday night, where a homicide investigation was underway.

A man was found fatally shot in the 900 block of East Armour Boulevard, just a few blocks west of Troost Avenue. Captain Corey Carlisle, a department spokesman, confirmed the incident.

Upon arriving at the scene, the responding officers spotted a vehicle fleeing the area, which was apparently en route to the hospital.

Upon making contact with the vehicle, they learned that it was transporting the gunshot victim.

The victim, identified as 22-year-old Timothy Postley Jr, passed away after being transported to the hospital.

The motive behind the shooting remains unclear, and no one has been arrested. Investigators are currently gathering evidence and interviewing eyewitnesses to try to piece together what happened.

A homicide on Monday marked Kansas City’s 161st killing of this year, as per The Star’s data. In the same timeframe of 2022, the city had witnessed 150 killings.
