Preston Gailey shoots, kills 4-month-old Emerie Gailey and self in Texarkana; mother Janie Gailey shot as well
A Beretta 9mm handgun was recovered at the scene. The mother, Janie, was airlifted to Little Rock with critical injuries.
The Texarkana Arkansas Police Department has identified the individuals involved in the tragic event that took place on Monday, November 6, resulting in a murder-suicide.
Four-month-old Emerie Gailey and her father, 27-year-old Preston Gailey, lost their lives in the incident.
Tragically, Preston’s passing was due to a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Janie Gailey, aged 19, also suffered gunshot wounds and was airlifted to a hospital in Little Rock for treatment of her critical injuries.
At the scene, law enforcement recovered a Beretta 9mm handgun in the 2500 block of Glendale Avenue.
It was reported that a domestic violence incident occurred in September, leading to the arrest of Preston by officers.
