23-year-old Starquan Washington killed in shooting outside Barfield’s Bar & Grille in Myrtle Beach

Authorities were dispatched to the location of a fatal shooting in the vicinity of Socastee overnight.

The victim has been identified as 23-year-old Starquan Washington. Horry County coroner Parry Bellamy confirmed that he passed away at Grand Strand Hospital as a result of injuries sustained in the incident.

An autopsy is slated for tomorrow.

At approximately 2:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Horry County police were called to the 4000 block of Highway 17 Bypass.

According to Bellamy, the incident unfolded outside Barfield’s Bar & Grille. Two individuals sustained injuries and were subsequently transported to nearby hospitals.

Regrettably, one of the victims later succumbed to their injuries, as confirmed by the Horry County Coroner’s Office.

The other person received treatment for injuries assessed as non-life-threatening.

Authorities have assured the community that there is no lingering threat to public safety.
