5 officers wounded after shooting west of Princeton, suspect contained

Early Thursday morning, a shooting incident occurred west of Princeton, resulting in multiple law enforcement officers being hospitalized.

The Benton County Sheriff’s Office verified a “critical incident” in Glendorado Township, situated between Princeton and St. Cloud.

Subsequently, authorities informed Channel3 NOW that a total of five law enforcement officers were shot and subsequently transported to hospitals in St. Paul and St. Cloud.

Thankfully, all of their injuries are assessed as non-life-threatening.

Authorities report that three of the officers are being treated at North Memorial Hospital, while the remaining two are receiving care at a hospital in St. Cloud.

The precise circumstances surrounding the activities of the officers, who are believed to represent various agencies, at the time of the shooting remain unclear.

At present, the suspect remains at large.

Authorities have assured that there is no immediate threat to the public, yet residents are advised to steer clear of the vicinity near 190th Avenue Northeast and Glendorado Road.
