18-year-old Sian Cartagena killed in Allentown shooting

Sian A. Cartagena, an 18-year-old woman from Allentown, has succumbed to injuries sustained in a shooting incident that occurred last Monday in the city.

The incident took place at 5:38 a.m. at a residence in the 2000 block of West Green Street.

The Lehigh County Coroner’s Office confirmed her passing, stating that Cartagena was pronounced dead at 2:48 p.m. on Wednesday at Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest Hospital in Salisbury Township.

Lehigh County Coroner, Daniel A. Buglio, has reported that an autopsy was performed on Monday. The cause of death was determined to be a gunshot wound to the body, and it has been officially ruled as a homicide.

It is currently unclear whether a suspect is in custody. Spokeswoman Pamela Lehman from the Lehigh County District Attorney’s Office and Allentown Police Chief Charles Roca have not yet responded to requests for further information as of Monday morning.

The Allentown Police Department, Lehigh County Coroner’s Office, and Lehigh County District Attorney’s Office continue their joint investigation into the shooting.
