3 people shot and killed in the 600 block of Evans Street in Southwest Atlanta

Update: Around 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, officers responded to a report of a shooting. Upon arrival, they discovered three individuals with gunshot wounds.

Tragically, two men succumbed to their injuries at the scene, while a third was rushed to Grady Hospital, but, sadly, he also passed away upon arrival.

The individuals who lost their lives were aged 17, 20, and 38. Preliminary findings from the police indicate that the shooting was a targeted incident.

According to authorities, a man approached two others and opened fire, prompting one of the victims to return gunfire.

Unfortunately, all three individuals were struck and ultimately succumbed to their injuries.

Homicide investigators are currently working to ascertain the motive behind the shooting. No hunt for an individual shooter is underway.

Around 1:30 p.m. on Saturday afternoon, officers received a call and responded to Evans Street, which is in close proximity to various businesses.

Notably, this location seems to be situated opposite The Mall West End, a shopping center, across Ralph David Abernathy Blvd.

Detectives report that multiple individuals sustained gunshot wounds, with three confirmed fatalities. It remains uncertain if additional individuals were injured.

According to a source, the bodies were discovered along Evans Street. It seems they may have been shot, as they appeared to have fled before collapsing in various locations.
