Ardrey Kell High School, located in south Charlotte, went into lockdown on Friday afternoon following a reported threat.

However, authorities have confirmed that no credible threat was discovered.

As stated in the message, law enforcement officers were present at the school, with sources informing Channel3 NOW that they were conducting a thorough search of the premises.

A video provided to Channel3 depicts a CMPD officer speaking to a group of parents who had assembled at the school.

The officer informed them that no evidence of a threat was discovered and expressed gratitude for their patience. Additionally, police responded to reports of a threat at Community House Middle School. Both schools were placed on a precautionary lockdown, according to CMPD.

Fortunately, no injuries have been reported. Channel3 NOW has contacted Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools and the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department for further details regarding the lockdown.
