Multiple injured after fire and shooting incident at Temple Court Apartments in Miami

A raging fire is currently engulfing the Temple Court apartments in Miami. Miami Fire Department crews are battling the blaze that erupted around 8:15 am on Monday morning.

Information Officer Iggy Carroll reports the fire is on the third floor and there are injuries.

Two firefighters have been treated for heat exhaustion and fire crews are now fighting the flames from outside the building to ensure their safety.

The extent of other injuries is not yet known.

Miami Fire officials report multiple residents, many elderly and immobile, were rescued from their balconies.

While some residents received medical attention on-site, others were transported to hospitals.

Adding to the complexity of the situation, Miami Police report finding a man shot inside the building.

He was critically injured and transported to Jackson Memorial Hospital.

Police are currently investigating whether the gunshot wound was self-inflicted and if there’s a potential suspect involved.
