Jonathan Adrian Baez Perez wanted for shooting Cesar Gabriel Gomez outside Carniceria La Tuna in Enid

Enid Police Department investigators have obtained a warrant for the arrest of 22-year-old Jonathan Adrian Baez Perez for the shooting of a man May 18 outside of an Enid store.

The warrant for Baez Perez was obtained this morning and is for charges of aggravated assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, possession of a firearm after former felony conviction and theft of a motor vehicle.

At 7:25 p.m. May 18, 2024, officers responded to reports of a shooting at Carniceria La Tuna, 757 N. 10th Street.

Officers learned Cesar Gabriel Gomez, 31, of Enid, had been in an argument with Baez Perez before Baez Perez opened fire upon Gomez. Following the shooting, Gomez entered the store and received aid from residents until first responders arrived.

Gomez was stabilized and transported to a helicopter landing area and was flown to OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City where he remains in critical condition.

Baez Perez remains at large and should be considered armed and dangerous.
