Original Report:

The shooting occurred around 3 p.m. on Wednesday at the intersection of Rising Sun and Cottman Avenues.

Among the eight victims, at least four are juveniles. Three of the juveniles sustained gunshot wounds to their legs, while the fourth was shot in the chest.

The details surrounding the shooting remain uncertain; however, sources indicate that authorities are searching for three shooters and a driver in a dark blue Hyundai Elantra with temporary paper tags.

All suspects were masked and were last observed driving across the Tookany Creek Bridge towards Cheltenham Township.

The conditions of the victims are currently unknown, and the police have not released any additional information.

A woman employed at the nearby Quaker Diner heard the gunshots and rushed outside to aid the victims.

She reported witnessing several juveniles wounded, expressing concern about the frequency of such incidents in the area.

“These children are losing their lives every day around here; someone needs to take action. This is not typical for our neighborhood,” she stated.

SEPTA reported that both a Route 18 bus and a Route 67 bus were struck by gunfire near the scene.

At the Frankford Transportation Center, one of the buses involved was sectioned off by law enforcement.

SEPTA has stated that there have been no reports of injuries to passengers or employees.

This is a developing story that will be updated when more information is available.
