17-year-old David Cantero Valdez killed after being shot multiple times inside a car in Tracy

A teenager from Tracy lost his life after sustaining gunshot wounds while inside a car on Friday night.

Tracy Police Department received a report of a collision along Sugar Road, situated between Tracy Boulevard and Holly Drive, at approximately 6:30 p.m. on January 12.

Upon arrival, officers discovered a man inside a car that had been shot multiple times.

According to Tracy Police Department spokesperson Sgt. Mike Richards, the vehicle veered off the road following the shooting.

The young individual was transported to a hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.

The victim of the shooting was identified as 17-year-old David Cantero Valdez from Tracy.
